Hilton
Head Island is one of the most popular resort destinations in
the United States. Settlement began in the 17th century, but the
Island was not connected to the mainland until 1956. Offering
quality accommodations, championship golf and tennis, 12 miles
of beautiful sandy beaches, marinas, nature preserves, and some
of the finest shopping and dining in the Southeast, Hilton Head
is a great resort for all ages.Despite
what some may call a sleepy town, Hilton Head Island
turns up the heat when it comes to things to do and places to
go. There is no excuse for being bored while in our town. Wet
and Wild Island
activities may include wave runners, parasailing, water skiing,
water park, kayaking, and of course... the beach!
Hilton
Head hosts over thirty championship courses recognized by many
top PGA players and course designers. Greens fees tend to run a
little higher considering the prestige of this golf community,
but golf in Hilton Head is always worth the price! From moss
draped fairways to views of the Atlantic Ocean, you are sure to
find a course to fit your swing.
Just
over the bridge from Hilton Head Island is a historic destination in its own right, Bluffton
Township. Settled in 1825, as a summer resort for rice and cotton
plantation owners, the town features antebellum homes, bed &
breakfasts, churches, quaint shops and restaurants.
Rather than bright big city lights in a fast paced atmosphere,
Hilton Head is famous for the just opposite. Surrounded by
majestic lagoons, wildlife, and the Atlantic Ocean, our Island
makes the perfect relaxation destination for everyone!
